Joan Davis returns with resources including books and websites to help you make informed decisions about your diet. Ms. Davis will suggest practical do’s and don’ts for successfully turning over a ‘green’ leaf and also share cooking tips and kitchen gadgets that will simplify food preparation.

The documentary, Honor Flight: One Last Mission, is a heartwarming story of the founding of an Honor Flight hub in Port Washington, Wisconsin and four of the WWII veterans who take their tribute flight. Join Linda Rockwell from JourneyCare for a viewing of the film followed by a discussion and Q&A.
Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 7:00pm to 8:30pm 
Join Martha and Jillian for an easy knitting sampler and learn a new trio of stitches to take your knitting to the next level. In this series of workshops, we will be learning the pie crust basket weave stitch, diamond brocade stitch and knitted ruching. Each workshop will focus on its own stitch so if you can’t make every class no problem! Basic knitting skills required.

You probably know Abraham Lincoln lived part of his life in Illinois, but did you know that Walt Disney, Betty Freidan and Charles Walgreen also called the Prairie State home? Join historian Leslie Goddard, Ph.D., for this illustrated lecture on ten intriguing Illinoisans and how they changed the world.

Registration Required
(ages 7-10) Using Minecraft’s Creative Mode and any of the 700+ available building blocks and decoration resources, participants will build objects related to a preassigned theme. Live step-by-step tutorials will be provided for beginners, and rigorous high-tech challenges will be assigned to advanced gamers. Each program includes two activities, live demonstrations, and 90 minutes of nonstop excitement.

Readers ages 6 and up can sign up to read to a certified therapy dog. These gentle dogs are non-judgmental and great listeners. Parents will need to sign a waiver form for participation. This program fills up quickly, so register early for one or more 20-minute sessions!
