Book a Meeting Room
The Library welcomes use of the Spruth Room for civic, cultural, educational or recreational purposes. The Spruth Room is located on the lower level of the Library and can accommodate up to 30 people.
Who can book the Spruth Room?
- The Spruth Room may only be booked by local non-commercial community groups and non-profit organizations.
- You or a member of your group must reside in the 60044 zip code in order to make a reservation.
- Any meeting in the Spruth Room must be free and open to the public. Private social gatherings, fundraising, and commercial/for-profit use are not permitted.
When can I book the Spruth Room?
- Bookings must be made at least 72 hours in advance of your desired meeting date and time. The Library cannot accommodate walk-in requests.
- Bookings can only be made up to 31 days in advance. The Library cannot accommodate requests to hold dates beyond the 31-day booking window.
- Any individual or group may book up to two meetings per month.
What else do I need to know about booking the Spruth Room?
- Your meeting room booking is not reserved until you receive confirmation from the Library. Meeting room booking requests will be approved or denied within three business days of receipt by the Library. The Library reserves the right to deny meeting room booking requests by groups who do not comply with Library policy.
- 30 chairs and 3 tables are available for use during your meeting. You may arrange tables and chairs in your desired configuration provided that the furniture remains in the Spruth Room. Staff are not available to arrange furniture for your meeting.
- The projector screen and projector are available by request. The Library will handle setup of the cart and provide limited assistance, but staff are not responsible for operating the equipment during the meeting. You must provide your own laptop or device to connect to the projector. Requests for the projector must be made in advance of your meeting date. Same day requests for the projector cannot be accommodated.
- When you arrive for your meeting, please check in with the front desk.
- By booking the Spruth Room, you are agreeing to abide by the Meeting Room Policy as well other Library policies, including the Library User Conduct Policy.

Study Rooms at the Library
We have study tables and furniture available for use throughout the Library, as well as the Stroh Reading Room, a dedicated quiet space that can be used for studying, reading, or other quiet activities. The Library does not offer private study spaces. Please see our list of nearby libraries that offer study rooms for other options in the area.
