Lake Bluff Library will open as scheduled at 10 am today Thursday, August 29. After an emergency visit from the Library’s HVAC contractor yesterday afternoon, the building’s air conditioning unit was successfully repaired. Temperatures have now returned to safe levels for staff and public. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience to the community, and appreciate your understanding. We look forward to seeing you at the Library soon!

The Library will be closing at 11:00 AM on August 28, 2024, due to ongoing unsafe temperature issues because of extreme heat. Despite our efforts to restore normal conditions after opening at 10:00 AM, it became apparent that the building's temperature had not improved. Library Director Renee Grassi is collaborating with the HVAC company to assess the issue, with the goal of reopening tomorrow. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Due to unsafe building temperatures because of extreme heat, Lake Bluff Pubic Library building will close at 10:30 am today Tuesday, August 27. The building will be closed for the remainder of the day. The library will reopen when building temperatures can stabilize safely for staff and the public. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
