License Plate Renewals
Renew your license plates at the Library
Why wait in line to renew your license plates when you can skip the line, renew your license plates, check out a book, AND support your local library? Lake Bluff Public Library offers license plate renewal services at the Circulation Desk. Here’s what you need to know:
What to bring
- Your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or the Registration ID included on your renewal notice from the state
- Please note: We can only renew plates that expire during the current month or in the future. We cannot renew plates that have already expired. To renew expired plates, you will need to go to the DMV.
- Your Driver’s License
- Your insurance card
- Circuit Breaker number (if applicable)
- Cash, check, or credit card to pay your renewal fee
Bring all of the above to the Circulation Desk and a staff member will renew your registration, print your new license plate stickers, and collect your renewal fee. An additional fee of $9.50 will go directly to the Lake Bluff Library. This additional revenue supports library operations, including collections and programming.
